The Game Testing Agreement that was agreed upon (when signing up for game testing) states:

PERMITTED DISCLOSURES
1. The fact that there is a Game Program.
2. The fact that you are a member of the Game Program.

Outside of that, it is a violation of the agreement to do anything more such as posting images or screen captures of anything related to Game Testing that is private and confidential and not already publicly revealed by The Old Republic team.

Yes, Sean's "NDA" is part of his job... and I like my job. It allows me to help drive my team to give all of you great content and news and updates and, once the game is out, keep everyone as informed as possible. So, I don't want to violate my "NDA" because it doesn't just mean I'm out of testing, I could be out of a job
On a more serious note, though, while the Game Tester Agreement is full of legalese, the short of it all is that outside of two simple statements, there isn't much of anything that a Tester can say or do outside of the game and any related communication tools provided.

For anyone discussing things that may be questionable; if you can't find the information posted by someone from the TOR Team in a public area (i.e., something you can read without being logged in)... don't quote or discuss it.

For anyone caught violating the rules, they will be notified and depending on the situation, they may be (1) temporarily suspended, they may be (2) removed from any testing, or they may be (3) permanently removed from the service or a combination of the above. Regardless, they will be notified of such actions and any and all relevant information will be documented.

We have seen many questions about the Game Testing Agreement and we want to clarify a few things.
  1. Per the Game Testing Agreement, a user can state there is a Game Testing Program.
  2. Per the Game Testing Agreement, when someone is selected for testing, they can disclose the fact that they are a member of the Game Testing Program.
That is the extent of it and anything else would be a violation of the Game Testing Agreement. Users that are found to post or even repost confidential materials (such as invitations, Game Tester Portal, etc) will be permanently removed from the Game Testing Program and subject to discipline up to and including permanent removal from the service. This is not limited to screenshots of the game but taking "screen grabs" or sharing of confidential documentation and materials.

E3 2010 has concluded!

It has been a sensational week for The Old Republic at the E3 Press Conference! Thanks to everyone for checking in throughout the week and supporting The Old Republic. It’s inspiring to see the community charged up with excitement for this game. Thanks for all your support!

To wrap up the week, we have two final announcements to share with you.


War Zones

It’s time to defend your allegiance. As the war heats up, heroes are needed on both sides and it's not enough to fight alone. Unite with your allies from all over the galaxy and travel to the War Zones to defend the Republic or the Empire!

War Zones are specifically tailored for team versus team combat, and players will experience fierce battles between the Republic and Empire, evoking memories of the famous Star Wars ground conflicts.

This week we announced that the first War Zone will be located in the majestic mountains of Alderaan. Players will join their allegiance’s fight for control of several important areas. Over time we’ll reveal more information about the Player versus Player experiences in The Old Republic.

Playable Species

The Ratattaki was the first non-human species we announced in The Old Republic and we showed them being played as butt-kicking Bounty Hunters. Today we are revealing that as a stealthy Imperial Agent you can choose to be a Chiss and as a charming Smuggler you can choose to be a Twi’lek. There is more information coming on these, and other, playable species at a later date, so stay tuned to The Old Republic website.

Armor Progression

We know that character progression in a key element of MMOs and part of making a player feel heroic is making them look heroic. Every class has a wide variety of armor and equipment available to them that can be worn in various combinations. We have talked about customization in The Old Republic, but we haven’t really shown what it might look like.

Here you can see a short video that showcases just a few of the thousands of sets of armor and equipment available to you as a Bounty Hunter. The Bounty Hunter’s abilities and equipment increase as the video progresses, showing you how you might look at various stages in your character’s career in The Old Republic.

* Es scheint ein Taxi-System zu geben, dass wie in WoW arbeitet. Man zahlt eine kleine Gebühr und gelangt von A nach B.
* Der Charakter-Erstellungs-Bildschirm ähnelt dem von Dragon Age Origins.
* Es gibt eine Aggro-Anzeige, die verschiedene Farben annehmen kann, je nachdem ob man sich in Gefahr befindet oder nicht.
* Beim Abschließen von Quests gibt es manchmal Items, Geld, "Alignment-Points" und Erfahrung.
* Für das Abschließen von Quests in einer Gruppe gibt es "Social-Points".
* Manche Quests sind auch instanziert. Diese Instanzen werden über ein Portal betreten. Sollte das Portal rot sein, kann man die Quest noch nicht erledigen.
* Mittels Rechtsklick werden Items beim Händler verkauft. Charaktere beider Fraktionen erhaltne Credits.
* Spezies scheinen keine Unterschiede bei Emotes zu haben.

Das hört sich so an als ob Du einen Adblocker oder ähnliches laufen hast. Das script für den Editor wird zwar geladen, aber gesperrt. Sowas kann durch Sicherheitssoftware, Adblocker oder ähnliches passieren. Entsprechendes solltest Du also kurzzeitig versuchen auszuschalten.

Da die Daten erst nach dem erfolgreichen Scan versandt werden, ist ein geschlossener Port eigentlich auzuschließen. Der Fehler ist mit recht hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit Java- oder Rechtebezogen.

Stelle sicher, dass Du keine Sicherheitssoftware laufen hast (Kaspersky, ZoneAlarm, etc.), die eventuell das ausführen von Java-Script und Java-Applets verhindern könnte. Du kannst ebenfalls versuchen, Firefox mit Adminrechten zu starten (Vorsicht beim besuchen unbekannter Seiten solange Firefox mit Adminrechten gestartet ist!), sowie Java neu zu installieren.

Versuche bitte, den Browsercache zu leeren, und stelle sicher, dass Du nicht Opera benutzt (wird von uns derzeit nicht offiziell unterstützt). Wenn das nicht hilft, wird es ein bisschen dauern bis ich etwas machen kann. Ich kann den Fehler leider nicht reproduzieren, und es dauert noch ein bisschen, bis die US-Kollegen im Büro eintrudeln

Doch Darth Malgus weiß nicht, dass noch einige kleinere Gruppen republikanischer Soldaten auf Alderaan stationiert sind und dort ihre Wunden heilen oder auf Befehle warten. Diese tapferen Soldaten ziehen sich in die Wälder und Berge zurück und kämpfen von dort aus einen Guerillakrieg gegen Malgus' Einheiten, damit die republikanische Flotte zurückeilen und die Invasion abwenden kann. Da die Zeit knapp wird und die Hauptstadt Alderaans kurz davor ist zu fallen, organisiert der Chaostrupp, die Elite-Sondereinheit der Republik, ein verzweifeltes letztes Aufbäumen gegen die große Übermacht von Malgus' Truppen.

What I would like to do is eliminate color in main forum posts and just allow for color in signature are to reduce eyestrain and confusion with color usage. We'll see if that comes about.

It's not that they are neglected; I'd say just the opposite. Some might say that the Jedi is probably the most iconic role out of all of Star Wars and so we want to ensure that the first time they are seen publicly, they are definitely on the right path.

And while I know some of you dislike it, we really prefer only showing things when they are ready to be shown. Have no worries, the Jedi Knight and the Jedi Consular will definitely be given their time to shine.

Hey Folks,

Just reading the responses to the Jedi Civil War Timeline, and I thought it would be worth commenting on a few things.

Firstly, the canon for Lucas is that Revan was male and that he followed the light-side ending for KotOR. That said, if you played KotOR, and experienced it differently, please use your imagination to make it work. We really didn't want to spoil anyone's KotOR memories and in fact, in any place we could, we tried to be inconclusive about these things. Ultimately, though, even for TOR it was necessary to come up with something firm about who Revan was and what he did.

Also, there is a glaring error in the timeline in describing the Rakatan technology as being developed 25 centuries ago. It was actually developed 25 millennia ago. We will try to go back and correct that at some point.

Keep in mind, as some other posters have referenced, the timelines are authored by a Jedi Master living 300 years after KotOR. Not all the facts were confirmed by the Jedi, and in some places, he may be wrong about what actually occurred. That goes for all the timelines.

I see a lot of you also asking about KotOR 2, and for that I'd reference a previous post:

The Exile defeated the Sith Lords, foiled Kreia's plan, and disappeared into deep space searching for Revan. The galaxy was essentially returned to the same state as it was in before the events of KotOR 2.

A few things about this: first, it all happened behind the scenes; the Jedi of the TOR era don't even know what really happened, in fact the only people who ever knew were the Exile and her companions. Second, because the events of KotOR 2 didn't really change the political landscape of the galaxy in any significant way, it's really more of an historical footnote to the Jedi Civil War rather than a major event in its own right.

This is absolutely not to say the story of KotOR 2 wasn't important. Taken in the context of the Timeline series, however, we decided it would be confusing and that the next note in the history of the galaxy should be the Jedi Civil War.

Thanks for all the feedback and interest in the game and in the Timeline videos. You guys remind us of why we're doing all this, so keep it up.

Jedi Master Gnost-Dural’s historical investigation steps back to this era, and he examines new evidence which reshapes the Order’s understanding of the events surrounding Revan’s fall and his ultimate fate.

Seit meinem Post gestern hat sich die Sachlage nicht verändert. Ich bitte noch einmal darum, Vergleiche mit politischen-ethischen Themen zu unterlassen, die nicht im Star Wars Universum begründet sind. Diese werden von uns entfernt, da sie generell ein Garant dafür sind, das der Thread komplett entgleist.

Haltet Euch gerade bei so kontroversen Themen wie Gut und Böse an Ereignisse aus dem Star Wars Universum.

Ich musste hier gerade etwas aufräumen. Threads, in denen Gut und Böse zum Thema gemacht werden, sind nicht zum ersten Mal in die Richtung der Vergleiche mit realen Geschehnissen und Personen abgedriftet, was fast immer zu einem ähnlichen Sturm der Entrüstung geführt hat, wie hier. Aus genau diesem Grund erlauben wir keine solche Vergleiche, die sich mit Themen und Ereignissen außerhalb des Star Wars Universums befassen.

Seht deshalb bitte von entsprechenden Vergleichen ab. Danke.

If you are referring to the GameTrailers TV episode, they are usually pretty good with putting them on their website but I believe it is usually a day after its been aired.

If you mean our updates, yes. We'll be updating the website each day with something new from E3. The daily updates (meaning a new update each day) won't be starting until June 14th (in the afternoon). In fact, if you watch the count-down banner on the homepage, you'll know exactly when we'll first update the news article.

I honestly have no idea. I normally like being on the good side of things, but I also tend to find the light side a bit whiny for my tastes (seriously, watch Luke in A New Hope). As for class, I personally think the Trooper class is pretty awesome.

Hi guys and girls,

If you played SWG in the last two years or so, you know me as AdeptStrain. For everyone else, nice to meet you!

I'm insanely excited to be working here at BioWare. The magnitude of talent here is quite staggering and I hope to contribute in any way I can to make TOR an amazing experience for all. While SWG will always have a special place in my heart, I'm very excited to put all my energies into TOR and help to try and create something really amazing.

I can't wait to start having some interesting conversations. Till then, I'll be diligently working on my various tasks.
